I’ve spent the last eight years turning off my car radio or any news program that featured Bush saying pretty much anything because it’s so discouraging to hear him mangle language and think that he’s our face to the world. A speechwriter on The West Wing once said that the first thing he looks for in a candidate is “a mind at work.” That hasn’t been the case for far too long. Whatever you think of Obama, there’s clearly a mind at work and that is an enormous relief.
