Olympics: Swimming

I have an idea. You know the starting platform for the swimming races? And you know how sometimes there’s a false start? (Not as often as there used to be or as there are in track, but you know what I mean, right?) I think instead of using judges they should use the same technology they have at Home Depot and in supermarkets in the self-checkout lanes where you scan something and if you don’t immediately put it in the bag on the platform, the machine says, “You have not placed the appropriate item in the bagging area.” They should do that for swimmers. “You have not placed the appropriate item on the platform. Please return the item to the platform.”

Trust me. This is a great idea.

Heh heh, I like this idea. It would have to be really, really loud of course, so that the false starter would know. Can you imagine that booming through the stadium?
