My friend Lynds used to volunteer as an art teacher at a before-school program in the Mission. One Valentine’s Day, she had the kids make stamp blocks out of potatoes (ah, the starchy memories!) and decorate cards for their valentines.
One kid stamped an unrecognizable structure on her card and wrote, “Happy Valentine’s Day Mom!” on the outside. On the inside, she printed, “I love you more than Lost Vegas!”
That must be excellent news for Mom, really. If you take your kid to Vegas – even Lost Vegas, the special place before the current incarnation – you have to wonder if you’ll be supplanted.
